Louis Audemars. A Heavy 18ct Yellow Gold Keyless Lever Minute Repeater Full Hunter Pocket Watch C1880s

Dial: The perfect plain white enamel dial with Roman numerals outer minute track and subsidiary seconds dial at six o'clock. The original blued steel spade hands with matching seconds hand.

Case: The heavy (133grams) 18ct yellow gold case with beautiful crisp engine turning to the front of the case with vacant round cartouche and the same to the back cover. The inner lid is engraved with the number of the watch and signed L Audemars Brassus & Geneve. The cases are all hallmarked and numbered. The repeater slide is at the side of the case with the hand set button at four o'clock.

Movement: The gilt three quarter plate movement fully jewelled to the centre arbor with screwed chatons, with slow fast regulation and compensation balance, fully signed L. Audemars Brassus & Geneve and numbered. The hammers strike the hours, quarters and minutes clearly

Louis Audemars & Cie was founded in 1811 by Louis-Benjamin Audemars in the hamlet of Le Crêt Meylan near Le Brassus in the Vallée de Joux, Switzerland. Louis-Benjamin Audemars and his sons made high quality watch movements and precision “complications” – repeater and chronograph mechanisms. Their watches nearly all hand-crafted, are considered among the finest watches the world has ever seen. Unfortunately the compnay went bankrupt in 1885, but his sons started their own businesses. This watch for it's age in in new old stock NOS condition. It would make an excellent addition to any collection.
